Our History

Chainda school was started in the early 90’s by Teaching The Teachers. The organization had sponsored the Zambian Acapella, a group that traveled around the United States encouraging students to take advantage of the educational opportunities they have. The group raised funds to purchase land where the school was later established. In the late 90’s, former members of The Zambian Acapella formed Zambian Vocal Group while attending college. The group toured the United States singing in churches and schools in over forty states. They established Teach One International a 501(3)(c) organization, founded through the efforts of the group. In 2008, Teach One International adopted the Chainda school providing support for students and teachers.

Since there is no active group touring to raise money to fund the school, support for the school is through individual donations.

Our dear friends Chris and Christina Wood from North Carolina have committed themselves to helping raise funds to support student education and teacher pays. They have organized mission trip to Zambia almost every year.

The school has a board of directors in Zambia who work as volunteers. The board has been very instrumental in helping us filling paperwork with the Zambian government and help oversee the day-to-day operation of the school.
